Over $10,000 Raised and Saved!!!

As of today, 12 August 2011...we have raised and saved $10,627.29!!! That equates to us being 42.5% funded for our adoption!  You all have been so generous with donation, purchasing things from our fund-raisers, and your positive thoughts!!!

Sorry for falling off the blogging wagon this week! We have been really busy!  We did the last of our medical test, and are just waiting on our results -- then that portion will be done.  We had to get an HIV test, syphilis, and TB test completed.  We know all of these tests will come back negative, but they have to officially done for our paperwork for Mikey & Liam's country. 

We also got 25 documents notarized, and they are on the way to my brother's house so that he can get them Apostilled for us.  When these come back, we will officially be submitting the first set of documents to their country! I am so excited about this, and hope to have them in the government's hands by the end of the month.  

We also sent off for our FBI background check (with fingerprints), and our Oklahoma background check (the last state we lived in before moving to Germany).  Tons of FUN paperwork, but we are really on the downward slope of it all.  

Bobby had to leave on a TDY this week, but should be back within 30 days.  When he returns I want to have the rest of the paperwork prepared so that it can be notarized (by both of us), and then sent to my brother's to be Apostilled.  Once that set of documents is back we submit it to their country -- and wait for a travel date!

We are also waiting on our Home Study to be completed.  We are waiting on 3 of the 5 states we have lived in since we were 18 to send us our completed Child Abuse Checks.  Once these are back (and hopefully will be any day now...) I will drive to Frankfurt and submit our application to the consulate (1-600A), so that we can bring the children back to the states and they will be legal citizens of the U.S. The consulate will submit out paperwork to the U.S. Government and then we will wait (hopefully about 2-3 weeks) for our 171-H approval -- which is the document that says we can bring the kids to the U.S. :) :) :) This is referred to as the Golden Ticket in the adoption world.  I can't wait to get the Golden Ticket, and it needs to beat Bobby back :) 

So right now we are basically waiting.  A long, slow, painful wait.  There isn't too much more that we have to do on our end -- well until some paperwork arrives in the mail.  I am going to the housing office to get a paper completed for our paperwork for their country, and to get us on the housing list for a 3 bedroom house or apartment.
