Our home study has been updated and finalized and is not getting notarized with the 5 other documents we need from our social worker. Then all of this is being sent to our Adoption Helper, Shelley, who is putting our dossier and Bulgarian commitment documents together.
Yesterday we mailed off the last set of documents to my brother to be apostilled in D.C. Once he gets them apostilled he will mail them to Shelley as well.
Monday we mailed Shelley our USCIS documents (aka immigration paperwork) and once she receives this and our home study she will mail our USCIS documents to the government. Then we will pray that this gets processed quickly. It can take between 60-90 days, but we have already completed our finger prints, so this should speed up the process....
So now we wait. We wait for our paperwork to make it to my brother and Shelley. We wait for the home study and five documents to be notarized and sent to Shelley. Shelley will the mail off our USCIS and our official commitment documents to Bulgaria. Then we wait on USCIS to approve our immigration paperwork.
After our USCIS approval comes back we have 2 more notaries, then apostilles to do and then everything goes to Bulgaria and we wait for a date to go meet our kids!
I am so excited.
I am going to practice my patience....wish me luck!
